As part of the fuels origination team, you will contribute to adding value to the energy portfolio and will be involved in strategic initiatives that directly impact our success and resilience in the energy market.

What you will do:

• Service commercial relationships with a portfolio of counterparts with the goal to increase the occurrence of deal making;
• Support the processing of various new products/index curves;
• Oversee daily operations and make necessary adjustments;
• Generate margins and significantly contribute to the profitability targets of the business unit;
• Manage portfolio risk (market, credit, funding, FX, etc.);
• Represent Axpo in internal and external working groups;
• Evaluate and monitor positions, identify trading opportunities and risks;
• Collaborate with traders and originators to develop, innovate, and define new products/services in line with customer needs;
• Ensure compliance with regulation and compliance rules;
• Contribute to team objectives;
• Research market fundamentals and quantitative models for decision-making related to trading activities.

What you bring & who you are:

• A university or college degree in finance, mathematics, statistics, or economics;
• 5+ years of work experience in portfolio management or structured origination in the energy business;
• Demonstrated experience in negotiating and transacting energy products/derivatives;
• Strong communication skills and trustworthiness;
• Excellent social skills and ability to operate in a demanding environment;
• Quick thought process and reaction speed;
• Well-connected with various energy counterparts (industrials, utilities, banks, trading houses, etc.);
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including programming;
• Good understanding of energy market drivers (price, market design, asset characteristics, players);
• Ability to work well as part of a team of traders and originators;
• Commercial orientation with strong negotiating and communication skills;
• Creativity in structuring and deal-making, driven by results;
• Ability to establish effective networks both within and outside the organization;
• Fluency in English is mandatory; Norwegian is a plus.
