Project Manager (Construction)

The successful applicant will: provide construction management services on a consultancy basis supporting client requirements to achieve the required objectives of individual renewables projects; provide management of Assistant Project Managers within this process to achieve the required objectives of the services; and grow, develop and consolidate Natural Power’s pre-construction and construction phase service provision.
Projects include onshore wind, solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and a variety of other associated evolving technologies.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Undertake pre-planning, pre-construction and construction phase services in connection with Irish, UK, wider European and global renewable developments, providing advice to all parts of the business
- Interacting proactively with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to manage interfaces of complex and challenging renewable energy projects
- Contract management and providing advice and interpretation on key project contracts including balance of plant (BoP), turbine supply and EPC contract agreements
- Prepare, review and submit various documentation including but not limited to:
- Tender documentation
- Technical documentation
- Employer’s requirements
- Contract preparation and management (TSA, EPC, Civil and Electrical Balance of Plant (BoP))
- Support clients in obtaining relevant project consents, permits and licences
- Planning condition discharge
- Progress reports
- Act as the Engineer in accordance with FIDIC
- Work with key stakeholders (client, planning authorities, statutory environmental authorities, local communities, utilities, TSO/DSO, TAO, etc.) in delivering construction management services
- Administration relating to the projects including management of project budgets, risk registers, contract claims and variations, payment certificates and action plans
- Chair meetings both in person on site and remotely
- Providing competent advice within area of expertise to clients and colleagues across the business
- Ad hoc assessments and tasks associated with project management as directed by the project team
- Identify and assist in undertaking business development activities for the purpose of successfully growing and developing the project management services within the team
Person Profile
Education & Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or project management discipline, or demonstrably equivalent experience at a senior level
Desirable Criteria
- Chartered Engineer
- MSc Renewable Energy or other relevant discipline
- Postgraduate qualification
- NEBOSH Certification
Specialist Knowledge & Skills
Essential Criteria
- Project Management expertise
- Highly organised, detail orientated
- Ability to prioritise and organise multiple tasks concurrently whilst working within project deadlines
- Competent using Microsoft Office
- Demonstrates sound commercial acumen
- Knowledge of the PSDP role.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of using Microsoft Project, Primavera or similar
- Knowledge of electrical distribution and transmission networks
- Familiar with the delivery of the PSDP (or PD) role.
Relevant Experience
Essential Criteria
- Project management experience in a construction environment
- Exposure to dealing with multiple stakeholders
- Experience of working on projects which required interaction with ESB or equivalent at DSO level
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of working on projects which required interaction with ESB/EirGrid or equivalent at DSO/TSO level
- Project Management experience in a renewable energy construction environment
- More than five years project management experience
- Previous consultant experience
- Previous experience with a HV electrical contractor
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
Essential Criteria
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with and manage client and colleague relationships
Desirable Criteria
- Accustomed to negotiating with and influencing others

- Full Irish or UK driving licence
- Legally entitled to work in Ireland

- Willingness to travel internationally
