Senior Technical Advisor - Energy Storage

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Execute activities related to design, technical due diligence and advisory projects being undertaken by Natural Power, with emphasis on interdisciplinary thinking and approach. The primary focus of the role will be on energy storage, with opportunities to support the wider team on other technologies from time to time.
  • Lead, manage and contribute to projects, acting as the main point of contact for clients as well as coordinating workstreams internally.
  • Financial budget control and reporting of assigned projects.
  • Prepare, negotiate and deliver proposals and contracts in conjunction with the business development team and the client.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, internal processes and tools, and development of new service offerings in your field.
  • Work with the Advisory lead to assess and develop new service offerings.
  • Preparation of thought pieces and white papers to further develop and showcase our capabilities.
  • Occasional travel within Europe as part of project delivery, for client meetings, or to attend events.

General Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Person Profile

Education & Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering or technical discipline (i.e. STEM subjects)

Desirable Criteria

  • Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline

Specialist Knowledge & Skills

Essential Criteria

  • Significant knowledge of energy storage technology, development and construction processes
  • Excellent report writing skills, high command of English and strong communication skills
  • Flexible approach to manage tasks concurrently and handle short order pieces of work
  • Ability to work collaboratively and assimilate information from several technical disciplines

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of UK and European energy market developments and policy context
  • Knowledge of solar PV and/or wind energy technology

Relevant Experience 

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in managing complex projects and being accountable to external stakeholders
  • Experience of energy storage project development, investment, construction or operations

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of working in a consultancy environment
  • Experience in carrying out due diligence for renewable energy or storage projects

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to manage and interface with 3rd parties.
  • Good writing skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Ability to manage difficult situations.

Any Additional Requirements

Desirable Criteria

  • Full UK or international driving licence
  • Fluency in other languages would be advantageous
