Associate, Environmental Consultant (EIA)

As an Associate EIA Consultant within WSP you will work with a range of technical environmental specialists and design teams across multiple sectors to lead environmental teams and inputs to project designs and assessments. You will be instrumental in improving the environmental performance for a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors.
The role would suit an enthusiastic individual looking to influence, lead and deliver environmental elements of engineering projects, within a wide range of sectors including rail, highways, energy and commercial / residential, from feasibility through to planning, detailed design, construction and handover/maintenance. You will have responsibility for leading projects including tasks relating to recruitment, bidding, project team management, project delivery, and financial management.
- Delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports;
- Taking ownership of projects from inception to completion and providing regular project updates to the environment team director and clients;
- Project Lead on EIA projects involving multidisciplinary teams;
- Technical lead in a discipline as related to EIA an advantage e.g. ecology, noise or air quality;
- Preparing planning applications, licences, permits and annual environmental reports e.g. waste licences;
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment in Ireland including planning and permitting/licensing requirements;
- Prioritising projects while balancing client expectations, available staff resources and project deadlines;
- Proposal preparation, and identifying follow on work opportunities with existing clients and work to develop opportunities broadening Golder’s client base;
Qualifications
- Have a sound understanding of EIA and planning laws that affect EIA in Ireland;
- A relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA, or similar;
- Demonstrable post-qualified experience of leading environmental assessments on a variety of projects, including large scale infrastructure projects, and across different development sectors, such as rail, energy, housing, highways;
- Comprehensive project management skills, including commercial and risk aspects, forecasting, and quality assurance;
- Experience in work winning and bid preparation activities.
