Sustainability Regulation Coordinator

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Sustainability division of Ignitis, where you’ll be responsible for contributing to the management of renewable energy portfolio and sustainability initiatives. If that speaks to you, we’d be happy to welcome you to our team!
You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Monitoring and complying with EU ETS II: implementing, updating, and maintaining the EU ETS II monitoring plan and ensuring compliance with Monitoring and Reporting Regulation (MRR) requirements across the company and subsidiaries;
- Analyzing and communicating legislation: continuously analyzing and communicating MRR, EU ETS II requirements, and local carbon tax laws to relevant stakeholders within the company;
- Collaborating with stakeholders and authorities: providing recommendations to Ministries, the EU Commission, and environmental agencies, while maintaining communication with competent authorities to determine appropriate tiers and compliance requirements;
- Auditing and ensuring quality control: managing internal and external audits of EU ETS II data, ensuring compliance with audit requirements, and maintaining robust auditing processes;
- Developing processes and training teams: developing and maintaining procedures required by the MRR, while conducting internal training on EU ETS II processes and procedures to ensure company-wide understanding;
- Managing projects and accounts: overseeing EU MRR and EU EUA accounts, managing EU carbon tax-related projects, and ensuring accurate execution of related processes and goals.
Required for this position:
- A BSc (or higher) degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Other backgrounds will also be considered;
- At least 2 years of experience in energy emissions taxation, auditing, or EU sustainability regulation;
- Proficiency in MS Excel, JIRA, and Confluence;
- Experience in applying EU sustainability directives or other regulations to business processes;
- An understanding or knowledge of the ETS I system and its application in legal regulations (considered an advantage);
- Familiarity with the EU Green Deal legislation and its application in commerce (considered an advantage);
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
