About the role:

This role will draw upon a foundational understanding of climate change and the built environment to deliver climate-related risk assessments and net zero carbon strategies for real estate clients. The analyst will work closely with project teams to provide data-driven insights, evaluate risks and opportunities and develop solutions that enhance resiliency across all aspects of the built environment. In addition to climate resilience, the analyst will also play a vital role in supporting the development of regulatory alignment services, including EU Taxonomy and CSRD-related projects, as well as delivering key legislative and policy research and analysis. The position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of sustainable development and contribute to real-world projects that drive positive change in the built environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Climate-related Risk Assessments: Conduct climate-related risk and financial impact assessments at asset and portfolio levels, identifying and proposing targeted. adaptation and mitigation strategies. Flexibility, including the ability to travel throughout the UK and internationally, to attend site visits is required.
  • Climate Disclosure Reporting: Prepare climate-related disclosure reports (e.g., TCFD, ISSB), conduct gap analyses, and communicate status effectively to stakeholders.
  • EU Taxonomy Alignment: Management and development of Longevity Partners’ EU Taxonomy alignment tool. This will include:
    • Building out modular capacity for national and regional specifications.
    • Considering future alignment with internal relational database systems.
    • Developing scripts to enable automatic population of tool from RFIs.
    • Developing knowledge base on EU Taxonomy regulation and applicability to real estate sector and integrating findings into EU Taxonomy tool.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Support the management of the team’s regulatory database and monitor legislative developments and policy trends relating to sustainability, energy efficiency, and climate change.
  • Net Zero Carbon Roadmaps: Support with developing and implementing effective carbon strategies, including GHG accounting, target setting, and internal carbon pricing strategies.
  • Data Management & Analysis: Organise and analyse large datasets, generating both quantitative and qualitative insights; manage data quality processes and conduct emission data benchmarking.
  • Innovation & Thought Leadership: Produce ad-hoc thought leadership pieces and conduct relevant research on industry and climate developments.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Project Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and accuracy, plus excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Research & Communication: Ability to analyse and communicate technical information clearly to various audiences; experience producing structured reports.
  • Educational Background: Master’s degree in environmental sciences, climatology, political science, engineering, economics, environmental law, or related field preferred.
  • Work Experience: 1–3 years in climate change or sustainability roles.
  • Technical Experience: Programming proficiency (Python or R), with experience in tools such as CRREM, SBTi, and MACC analysis, in addition to proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Languages: Fluency in English; additional European languages a plus.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data analysis, climate risk assessments, and reporting frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, TCFD, CSRD).
  • Knowledge of energy and sustainability policy frameworks and regulatory mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in GIS or climate modelling software.
  • Familiarity with environmental law and governance structures.
  • Previous internship or work experience in a policy, advocacy, or research role.
  • Fluency in languages other than English is a plus.
