Your tasks

  • Further grow E.ON`s sourcing activities and value contribution through physical or financial commodity transactions of a complex and “non-standard” nature (Renewable Power Purchase Agreement´s, flexibility products, weather structures and other transactions with embedded derivatives);
  • Identify, structure and capture commercial opportunities in existing and new markets for E.ON in a variety of energy commodities (electricity, gas, green certificates, and cross-commodity);
  • Develop business opportunities together with other E.ON units and orchestrate across functions to deliver business readiness;
  • Develop and execute hedging and risk mitigation strategies for positions stemming from origination transactions;
  • Work closely with E.ON's portfolio management and front office departments (central and regional) to preserve and grow the value of our portfolio under management;
  • Liaise and steer internal stakeholders (Risk, Portfolio Strategy, Finance, Contract/Legal, etc.) in structuring, assessment and approval of transactions;
  • Experienced networker who is able to develop and keep up excellent relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders (Counterparties, Industry Associations, etc.).

Your profile

  • University degree in economics, econometrics, finance, physics or engineering;
  • Strong technical and quantitative skills;
  • Excellent understanding of option pricing theories & tools and their application to physical assets;
  • Able to develop pricing tools for market-based valuation of flexible power offtakes, PPAs, cross-border capacities, and other physical energy assets;
  • Highly entrepreneurial individual with proven track record in PnL contribution and in the successful conclusion of complex commodity transactions;
  • Deep understanding of financial and physical energy markets (futures, forwards, and exchanges). Thorough knowledge of European energy markets;
  • Familiarity with market and credit risk management, balance sheet structures, asset valuation methodologies, accounting principles particularly with respect to structured transactions are highly appreciated;
  • Experienced in and familiar with master trade agreements, such as EFET and ISDA;
  • Persistence and self-motivated individual, able to excel in an unstructured environment;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in English is required; preferably able to speak additional European languages.
