What You Will be Doing

Day to day you’ll lead the delivery of fundamental market analysis, assumptions, forecasts, and a variety of analytical activities focused on power markets, utilising fundamental modelling tools and techniques.

Your valuable work will support the activities of the Trading & Optimisation team within liquid traded markets, supporting daily trading strategy decisions from within-day out to up to 5 years.

So that’s plenty of fundamental modelling development, energy industry trend analysis, and policy and regulation impact scrutiny.

And as the senior in the team, you’ll manage a team of Trading Analysts, working collaboratively with them to support their development.

About You

• Practical experience in an analytical/market facing role within the energy industry;
• Possess a good honours degree in a numerate discipline or equivalent;
• Ability to understand and interpret data sets/statistical analytics, develop accurate models from first principles and sense-check outputs;
• Able to see the overall picture and understand how analysis fits in to the trading strategy across active traded horizon from within-day, prompt and forward markets;
• Strong understanding of modelling and IT technologies and techniques, leading the development of VBA, Python, SQL or similar, knowledge of linear optimisation modelling (e.g. BID3) or statistical analysis models;
• Leading, developing and supporting team members within Trading Analysis.
