Your role
As our next Value Change Initiative (VCI) Program & Engagement manager you will play a key role in the execution of the VCI Sectorial Working Groups, Programs and Labs, by supporting the VCI team in the management of the workstream processes and maintaining engagement with key stakeholders. The exceptional work of the VCI has now grown the number of stakeholders to over 110 members and 550+ frontrunner participants, among which there are leading corporates in the Food & Agriculture and Apparel sectors.
You will support in the coordination of the VCI activities, manage day-to-day engagement with the members and some of the partner organizations, facilitate discussions and VCI events, and provide insights for content development on Scope 3 accounting and reporting.
Reporting to the VCI Director you will work in close collaboration with a highly motivated VCI team and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Our international VCI team works fully in English across multiple countries largely in a remote fashion. For this role, you are ideally based in Luxembourg or the Netherlands, however we will also consider candidates living in other locations.
Your key tasks
- Oversee the organization and execution of VCI sessions and events - developing comprehensive agendas, supporting preparation and logistical arrangements, briefing and coordinating with guest speakers, facilitating sessions to ensure smooth delivery, capturing and documenting key insights from sessions, following up with participants to gather and analyze feedback);
- Manage daily interactions with NGOs and members - including supporting contracting and renewal processes, tracking engagement and maintaining records;
- Assist Business Development (BD) in recruitment and enhance member engagement - coordinating contracting processes, supporting member onboarding activities, hosting engagement calls and meetings, representing VCI at external events and meetings;
- Contribute to content development and VCI outputs - gathering insights relevant to various workstreams, assisting in the creation of content pieces;
- Providing feedback on outputs based on member interactions;
- Support the automation of processes such as onboarding and communication tasks by managing and optimizing these processes;
- Assist the VCI secretariat with programming and daily operations.
You have these claims to fame
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (environmental or soil sciences, ecology, economics, sustainable development, business innovation, MBA);
- 5+ years of professional experience;
- Knowledge in Greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, corporate climate-related reporting, and/or carbon markets;
- Strong facilitation and moderation skills for (mainly online) technical multi-stakeholder sessions, with robust storytelling and communication abilities;
- Excellent understanding and experience with multi-stakeholder dynamics in evolving landscapes;
- Strong project management and planning skills.
Bonus points for
- Robust command of resources to produce and deliver presentations;
- Previous experience in consulting (technical, strategy, etc.).
