RINA is currently recruiting for a Sustainability & Climate Risk Consultant to join its office in Genoa, Milan or Rome, Italy within the ESG & Sustainability Division.
Mission
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the industry, R&D, and financial services sectors, supporting the implementation of their green and ESG strategies. This role will provide specialized expertise in ESG and climate change-related services, including but not limited to climate risk assessments, alignment with the Paris Agreement, EU Taxonomy & DNSH, sustainable finance, green finance, climate finance, sustainability reporting, corporate climate governance, ESG KPIs & assessments, and ESG & climate due diligence.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the whole project scope of work or specific project tasks;
- Assess clients’ needs and translate them into designs, equipment, or new systems under the supervision of a consultant. From the initial concept stage through to completion, they manage project timelines and oversee all developments;
- Plan technical solution: engineering consultants find unique ways to resolve technical issues without affecting the overall completion deadline or affecting the involvement from other departments or external companies;
- Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines;
- Coordinate and communicate with projects group as needed on significant projects in the Business Units;
- Responsible for the production and the performance of assigned projects under the coordination of the Principal Consultant;
- Ensure the creation of documents and reports that detail their assessments, any fact-finding survey data acquired, the project’s inception, and concept planning;
- Monitor engineering progress against budget and forecasted schedule;
- Effectively manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines;
- Prepare project estimates, budgets, schedules and execution plans;
- Support the continued development of more junior team personnel providing technical guidance;
- Responsible for the development of the technical competencies. When belonging to the engineering competencies, supports the Principal Consultant in a specific technical development or in growing competencies and training personnel;
- Be aware and understand the Quality Policy. Ensure that the RINA QMS executes all assigned activities. Be aware of the quality of his work and its impact on service delivery and contribute to the QMS improvement according to their role;
- Interact with clients and colleagues to achieve project objectives using appropriate technical judgment;
- Able to discuss and define client requirements, reflecting a clear understanding in well-written technical reports and proposals;
- Actively support business development activities, building client relationships, and helping to generate new business.
Education
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or Law.
