As our Commercial Project Manager, you will:

  • Work with various members of the business support and engineering teams, including Business Development, Business Decision Support, Accounting, Legal, Project Development, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Reporting to the Project Execution Manager ESPS EMEA, the Commercial Project Manager will assist the Business Development Managers with scope development and cost estimate preparation, project proposal preparation, project execution, and O&M project management.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with the local engineering teams will be essential to success in this role.

You will also have the following accountabilities:

Commercial/Proposal Development

  • Lead scope generation for the proposal with interaction with the Business Development Managers.
  • Participate in customer engagement meetings.
  • Prepare estimates for the proposal, working with the engineering teams and other groups within Air Products as necessary.
  • In conjunction with the Business Development Manager prepare proposals for the customer.

Project Execution

  • Conduct project execution activities including cost management, schedule, budget, safety performance aspects and compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Be customers’ privileged point of contact for projects once in execution.
  • Ensure that project scope changes are raised and managed.
  • Setup and execute projects in SAP including cost tracking and reporting.
  • Manage Service Orders and Service Contracts, cost tracking and reporting.

As our Commercial Project Manager, you already are or have:

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in the Industrial Gases, Oil & Gas or related field including ideally project management experience.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Understanding of sales, finance, etc.
  • Proven commercial/contract management experience.
  • External focus.
  • Familiarity with company work procedures.
  • Ability to work cross functionally within Air Products.
  • Familiarity with SAP system and processes.
  • Strong influencing, communication and facilitative skills.
  • Ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Understanding of Air Products’ offering and technologies.
  • Ability to objectively assess situations or circumstances using all the relevant information to decide between options.
