We are seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join our team as a Sustainable Sourcing Manager for our Raw Materials category. In this pivotal role you will be responsible for the coordination of Sustainability Initiatives, working closely with suppliers, Global HSE & the Business to ensure that Sanofi’s CSR roadmap is on track. This role reports to the Head of Procurement Environmental Responsibility.

Main responsibilities:

  • Work hand in hand with Raw Materials Global Category Manager to enhance category strategy with sustainability components – identifying areas of opportunity, creating the business case to establish baseline value, and creating execution plan;
  • Operate as Sustainability focal point for the Raw Materials category team, working closely with buyers to embed sustainability components into interactions with suppliers – covering Supplier Relationship Management, Quarterly Business Reviews, tender evaluation, contract negotiations;
  • Drive implementation of sustainability initiatives, working with teams to execute vision established in category strategy;
  • Support suppliers with emissions calculations, carbon footprinting, traceability processes, and general sustainability maturity uplift while engaging them to promote sustainable sourcing practices;
  • Support in data collection with suppliers, such as emissions data, LCA data, water consumption, waste data, etc.;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to sustainability, risk management, and ethical sourcing;
  • Identify and mitigate sustainability-related risks within the supply chain through proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies, working closely with Procurement Risk Management team.

About you

Experience:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a procurement role;
  • Proven experience working in an ESG-focused role; specific focus on sustainability (Climate and Nature);
  • Strong understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks, and best practices, particularly within the context of supply chain and procurement operations;
  • Knowledge of environmental and social regulations, standards, and certifications relevant to procurement (e.g., ISO 14001, SA8000);
  • Experience in Life Sciences or Consumer Goods organizations is preferred.

Soft skills:

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and inspire change at all levels of the organization;
  • Strong influencing abilities, to ensure environmental responsibility is a component of all Procurement strategies;
  • Ability to work in cross-cultural teams remotely.

Technical skills:

  • Experience in project management, data analysis, and performance reporting, with proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP) and tools.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English.
