We are looking for a client focused Structured Trader to join our execution desk in Manchester. Trading in gas, power, and clean energy you will partner with the sales teams to deliver ambitious financial targets whilst trading client flow within European gas and power commodity markets.

What you will do:

• Develop SEFEs Natural Gas, Power, and Clean Energy strategies for Client portfolios to deliver profit while minimising risk
• Analyse and optimise our sales and trading strategies, considering changing portfolio and market situations for structured gas and power products, including futures, options, and swaps
• Work with portfolio managers to deliver consistent results and improve EBITDA by executing trades with clients while maintaining a high level of data accuracy
• Conduct in depth market research and analysis to identify trading opportunities and trends in the natural gas/ power market, providing market intelligence and bespoke reports to sales teams and external customers
• Create and maintain strong collaborative relationships with customers and brokers, and work with traders and analysts to discuss trading ideas and coordinate trading activities
• Support the design and development of our automated processes and digital trading solutions to improve efficiency and create a best-in-class deal capture system for all European markets
• Contribute to internal IT projects and the development of new products and market channels

What you will bring:

You will demonstrate experience in:

• Managing customer positions with excellent knowledge of commodity OTC & Futures hedging and flow trading
• Pricing and structuring derivatives such as futures, forwards, swaps, options
• European Natural Gas and Power Markets
• Emissions Markets and Biofuels would be advantageous

Along with:

• Exceptional commercial acumen, with a keen understanding of market dynamics and client needs
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Polished presentation skills, able to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
• Experience implementing processes and systems to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
• Machine learning in trading experience
• Proficiency in Python
• Languages: Fluent business English (German, French or Dutch desirable)
• Educated to degree level or equivalent (or strong work experience in a relevant area)
